József Hornicz, the founder of KARMA, grew up in this environment. As a child, he first saw how raw leather became a garment in the Pécs glove factory. He watched the masters, learned the ropes of the trade, and fell in love with this way of life.

In the late 1990s, when the large Pécs glove factory closed down, many thought this tradition was over. However, József did not let what he had been passionate about his whole life disappear. He founded his own business to carry on the past of the trade and the city, and for his family to keep Pécs glove-making alive.

For him, a glove is not merely a utilitarian object, but a kind of handshake between the past and the present. Every piece is made from carefully selected leather, with meticulous handiwork.
