Knowledge passed through generations
Pécs, Hungary, has been home to Hungarian glovemaking since the mid-nineteenth century. Since János Hamerli opened his atelier in 1861, the knowledge of cutting and hand-sewing has passed from master to apprentice. It lives on in our family glovemaking atelier today.
Here, a glove is still shaped by hand, one stitch at a time. It is made for years of wear, and the leather gradually settles around the hand in the way only hand-worked leather can.
